ARRI expands its range of SkyPanel LED soft lights with the new S120-C, the biggest member of the SkyPanel family.The highly acclaimed ARRI SkyPanel series of LED soft lights is growing, with the new SkyPanel S120-C joining the S60 and S30 family of products. The S120 is twice as long as the S60, but weighs nearly the same.
Its larger light aperture makes a great soft light even better. Retaining the same features and color tuneability as its smaller counterparts, the S120 consumes less than 400 watts, yet it is slightly brighter than the S60-C and has an outstanding efficacy of 90 lumens per watt. Expanding its range of ECS accessories, ARRI announces four new Master Grip handgrips, which offer unprecedented fingertip control of ARRI and third-party cameras and lenses when shooting handheld.The primary function of traditional cine-style handgrips is to firmly stabilize a camera on the operator’s shoulder. Documentary camera setups include a servo zoom with the handle, allowing certain lens and camera functions to be controlled. In today’s industry, the previously separate worlds of cine and documentary equipment have merged.

ARRI is pleased to announce that development of the ALEXA SXT cameras is completed.(Munich, Germany-September 8, 2016) ARRI will now make good on its promise to provide upgrades to all ALEXA XT EV, ALEXA XT Plus and ALEXA XT Studio cameras shipped in 2015 and 2016. In addition to the originally promised upgrade program of a free-of-charge upgrade to SXT in Munich, ARRI has equipped its service stations in London, Los Angeles, New York, Beijing, Hong Kong and Mumbai to perform the upgrade. ARRI introduces two new focal lengths to the Master Anamorphic series, extending the range at both the wide-angle and telephoto ends.
The 28 mm MA28 shares the fast T1.9 aperture speed of all seven preceding Master Anamorphics, making it ideal for low light work and shallow depth of field. For such a long focal length, the 180 mm MA180 has an impressively fast stop of T2.8 and a compact design, with a front diameter of just 95 mm. Published 5 years ago. The Triple Filter Frame stacks two or three glass filters together in a single filter frame that occupies two regular matte box slots. ARRI’s Studio Matte Boxes SMB-1 and SMB-2 have an integrated tilt module designed to control unwanted reflections between filter surfaces, the lens front element and the camera sensor glass.
Reflections can also develop under some circumstances between filter surfaces, which is not always controlled by solely tilting the matte box. Used in combination with either the SMB-1 or SMB-2 tilting feature, stacking the filters together in the Triple Filter Frame is a proven method of preventing these types of reflections. Published 5 years ago. The new Alura Lens Data System (LDS) 1.4x and 2.0x Extenders are the perfect products to extend the focal length range of zoom and prime lenses. Specially designed for ARRI/Fujinon Alura and Fujinon Cabrio zoom lenses, the extenders multiply the focal length of the base lens by a factor of 1.4 or 2.0 with only 1-2 stops of loss at full aperture. The quality matches other ARRI/Fujinon or ARRI/Zeiss lenses. The extenders have little to no effect on the optical quality of Aluras, offering a highly competitive solution over expensive, long-range zoom lenses. Published 6 years ago.
ARRI’s Electronic Control System is a sophisticated toolset for remote camera and lens control. It includes the award-winning WCU-4 wireless hand unit, which displays extensive lens data when used with ALEXA Plus and Studio cameras, as well as its smaller companion, the SXU-1 single axis hand unit controlling either focus, iris, or zoom. A range of new motor controllers gives the Electronic Control System complete operational autonomy, allowing the WCU-4 and other system elements to be used with all types of cameras, including the new ARRI AMIRA cameras and other third-party cameras. This new mechanical design concept overcomes known performance problems with wide angle zooms. Boasting an unusually accommodating image circle at 34.5 mm, the optical performance of the UWZ is comparable to, or even exceeds, that of high-end wide-angle prime lenses.

ARC 3.1 will be previewed at NAB. ARRIRAW is an uncompressed, unencrypted and uncompromised file format popular for feature films and commercials. The ARRIRAW Converter (ARC) is available as a standalone app. It is designed as a reference tool to show the most advanced image processing for ALEXA ARRIRAW files.
