And if so, how?Hey, I have an update on this as of last night. HOLDERs, I can't speak specifically about your problem, but I now have NetExtender working on my Windows 7 laptop to my SSL-VPN. I'll sort of translate what I learned, in case people don't have access to the SonicWALL forums.
Here's the short of it: - According to SonicWALL, version 3.0.0.9-20sv, which is soon to be released for both the SSL-VPN 200 and 2000, will support Windows 7 clients. They are running it now. Here's the best part.I went to the demo site, installed and ran their latest version of NetExtender. After I disconnected, I used it to connect to my own SSL-VPN, and it worked. So, if you want it working now, that might work for you. But it sounds like the firmware will soon be available anyway.I have gotten SonicWall Global VPN Clinet Version 4. 1.1.302 to run in Windows 7 Beta 64-bit.
The error I was initially receiving was something about missing dneg4x.sys. I found this to be a component of Deterministic Networks DNE. Since I did an upgrade from Vista Home Premium 64-bit, SW VPN was partially installed.Steps: 1) Uninstall Sonic Wall Global Client. 2) Download DNE at for 64-bit. There is also a 32-bt download. 3) Install the DNE.4) Install Sonic Wall Global Client. You should be back up and running.
The one strange bug is when the client wall sends back the form prompt for user name and password.When I tab to password, the form mysteriously disappears. I found that if I tab and enter password real quickly and click okay, I do get a clean connection. I think this problem is with the version of SW since it was a beta 64 bit version and I have never gone back to see if they have a newer version. You know, I just didn't read your post very carefully before. But I'll point out, mostly for the benefit of people unfamiliar with SonicWALL, that NetExtender and the VPN Client are two different pieces of software. At one time I thought they were very similar, but there's lots of differences, including how/what they install.This is still good info though, because while my NetExtender wasn't working I tried to use the Global VPN Client software to tunnnel straight to my firewall and still had problems installing in on Windows 7. There are apparently workarounds on the SonicWALL forums for this, but I gave up now that my NetExtender is working.
